TOWN OF BROWNVILLE JOINT FIRE DISTRICT

NOTICE OF ANNUAL ELECTION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Town of Brownville Joint Fire District will take place on December 8th , 2020 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Town of Brownville Joint Fire District, Station #1, 100 Locke St., Dexter, New York for the purpose of electing the following for district officers:

One Fire Commissioner for a five (5) year term, commencing January 1,

2021 and ending December 31, 2025,

One Fire Commissioner for a two (2) year term, commencing January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2022.

All candidates for a District Office shall be residents of the Town of Brownville Joint Fire District, not convicted of any degree of arson. Persons seeking office must file a petition signed by not less than twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the Town of Brownville Joint Fire District, stating the position and term they are seeking, with the Secretary of the Town of Brownville Joint Fire District, by mail at P.O. Box 2, Brownville, New York 13615 or in person with the Fire District Secretary at the offices of the Town of Brownville Joint Fire District, 100 Locke St., Dexter, New York. Petition forms are available from the Secretary of the Town of Brownville Joint Fire District at the offices of the Town of Brownville Joint Fire District, 100 Locke St., Dexter, New York. Such petition must be filed with the Fire District Secretary on or before November 18th, 2020.

Any elector of the Town of Brownville Joint Fire District who shall be registered voter with the Jefferson County Board of Elections on or prior to

November 16th , 2020, and who shall have resided in the Town of Brownville Joint

Fire District for at least thirty days preceding such election shall be qualified to

 

vote.
