Town Board Minutes 5/5/21

TOWN OF BROWNVILLE                                      TOWN OFFICE, LIMERICK, N.Y.

TOWN BOARD                                                         MAY 5, 2021, 5:00 PM

 

PRESENT:    Roll call of Board Members:

Supv. Richard D. Lane, Councilmen Ron Tepfenhart, Albert Roberts,

Richard Dodge, Jeff Timerman, Supt. Roy Gilchrist and Clerk June

McCartin.

 

ABSENT:      No One

 

MINUTES:   Motion from Councilman Dodge to accept the April minutes as

received and Councilman Tepfenhart seconded the motion.  Agreed.

 

FINANCIAL

STATEMENT:  Councilman Tepfenhart motioned acceptance of the Financial Report for

March and April as received and Councilman Timerman seconded the

motion.  Agreed.

 

PUBLIC HEARINGS:  None

 

BIDS:          Clerk read the legal notice to receive bids for supplying Propane for the

period of June 1, 2021 to May 31, 2022 to the Town of Brownville.  One bid

only received from Christman Fuel Service Inc. for fixed price of 1.299 and

variable price of 1.2488.

 

COMMUNICATIONS:

Incoming:  1. None

Outgoing:  1. None

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

  1.               Planning Board Minutes
  2. Ron’s monthly land use reports
  3.         Copy of transfer site tonnage of refuse and recyclables
  4. Monthly dog report

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

  1. Councilman Timerman motioned for signing of contract with Marc

Foulger agreeing to replace a willow tree if damaged within three years

after work in the area adjacent to property by the installation of water

line.  Councilman Tepfenhart seconded the motion.  Agreed.

  1. Received copy of water district #2 update. Councilman Dodge

motioned for a public hearing on June 2, 2021 at 5:00 PM if the water

use laws and use fees have been received on time for advertising.

Councilman Roberts seconded the motion.  Agreed.

  1. River Side Solar project is ongoing and the Town must decide if we

need to hire an engineer and lawyer.  Board decided to table decision

for next monthly meeting.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Councilman Tepfenhart motioned to accept the Christman Fuel bid

for propane at a fixed rate and Councilman Roberts seconded the

motion.  Agreed.

  1. Town Planning Board is in need of two members.

 

 

HIGHWAY SUPT.  Supt. Gilchrist reports crew has plows off and mowing road sides.

Crew has been working on culverts on CR59 and will pave Game

Farm Road Ext. next week.

Supt. Gilchrist noted he wishes to put mower, portable welders,

equipment trailer and excavator on International Auction and

replace excavator with a smaller unit.  Councilman Dodge motion to

proceed with the auction items and Councilman Roberts seconded

the motion.  Agreed.

 

CLERK:                   Clerk report for April given.  Councilman Timerman motioned to

                                 accept report and Councilman Roberts seconded the motion. 

                                 Agreed.

 

COUNCILMEN:      Nothing

 

TOWN SUPERVISOR: 1. Board Member briefly discussed the issue to accept or opt out

of the sales and sites for cannabis.  The Board decided to table any

decision for later consideration.

  1. Petition received for water district on Road 365 received. It is

outdated and tabled for further discussion upon receipt of more

information.

FLOOR:                   Maureen Hilts was present with questions related to the Riverside

Solar project proposed for the Brownville/Lyme towns.

 

WATER,

GENERAL AND

HIGHWAY BILLS:   Board Members reviewed the payables.  Councilman Tepfenhart

motioned to pay the General Bills ($29,476.68), the Highway

bills ($119,605.08) and the water bills ($19,239.64).  Councilman

Dodge seconded the motion.  Agreed.

 

ADJOURNMENT:    Councilman Dodge motioned to adjourn at 5:30 PM and

Councilman Roberts seconded the motion.  The next town board

meeting has been scheduled for 5:00 PM on June 2, 2021.
