Town Board Minutes for August 3, 2022

PRESENT:    Roll call of Board Members:

Supv. Richard D. Lane, Councilmen Ron Tepfenhart, Richard Dodge, Jeff

Timerman, William Pickett, Supt. Roy Gilchrist and Clerk June McCartin

GUEST:        Bill Johnson, Mike Walroth

 

ABSENT:      No One

 

MINUTES:   Motion from Councilman Dodge to accept the July minutes as

received and Councilman Timerman seconded the motion.  Agreed.

 

FINANCIAL

STATEMENT   Motion to accept Financial Statement for June, 2022 by Councilman

Tepfenhart and a second from Councilman Timerman.

 

PUBLIC HEARINGS:  None

 

BIDS:             None

 

COMMUNICATIONS:

Incoming: 1. None

 

Outgoing: 1. Letter of support to US Army Environmental Command for

Army investment in Fort Drum associated with the stationing

of a Multi-Domain Task Force.

  1. Letter of support to Governor Kathy Hochul supporting the

proposed $80 million Thousand Islands Event Center in the

Town of Watertown.

  1. Letter to Dept. of Labor stating Bonnie Patterson was not

fired from her position in the cemetery.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

  1.                       Planning Board Minutes for July
  2. Ron’s monthly land use reports
  3.                       Copy of transfer site tonnage of refuse and recyclables
  4. Monthly dog report not available
  5. Constables report not available

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Aug. 3, 2022 letter from BCA with a summarized

explanation of the chlorine booster station being proposed for water

district #2.

This chlorine booster station will allow the Town Water Operator to

increase the chlorine residual of all treated drinking water entering the

WD2 distribution system.  Motion was made by Councilman Dodge to

purchase the booster station @ $250,000 and Councilman Tepfenhart

seconded the motion.  All agreed.

 

NEW BUSINESS:  Councilman Timerman motioned to reappoint Mike Finucane to the

Zoning Board of Appeals with term ending 7/31/26.  Councilman Dodge

seconded the motion.  Agreed.

 

HIGHWAY SUPT.

Supt. reports Weaver and Ackerman Roads are ready to pave.  Crew has

been working on shoulders for the County.  Supt. Gilchrist request to hire

a 7th highway employee and Councilman Pickett motioned approval and

Councilman Tepfenhart seconded the motion..  Agreed.

The equipment auction closes in six days.  Councilman Pickett motion for

Supt. Gilchrist to release the sale to high bidder on Town Equipment and

Councilman Dodge seconded the motion.  Agreed.

 

CLERK:          Councilman Timerman motioned to accept the July clerk

report and Councilman Pickett seconded the motion.  Agreed.

 

COUNCILMEN:        Nothing

 

TOWN SUPERVISOR:

  1. Town trash cleanup days are scheduled for August 20, August 24

and August 27.

  1. Will start working on budget for 2023.

 

WATER,

GENERAL AND

HIGHWAY BILLS:   Board Members reviewed the payables.  Councilman Tepfenhart

motioned to pay the General Bills ($48,062.19), the Highway

bills ($127,033.00) and the water bills ($150.77).  Councilman

Timermant seconded the motion.  Agreed.

 

Floor:              Legislator Bill Johnson was present and discussed the proposed legislative

districts changes based on 2020 census.

 

 

ADJOURNMENT:    Supv. Lane  motioned to adjourn at 5:28 PM and

Councilman Tepfenhart seconded the motion.  The next town board

meeting has been scheduled for 5:00 PM on Sept. 7, 2022.
