TOWN OF BROWNVILLE JOINT FIRE DISTRICT NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Partial Tax Exemption Real Property Tax Law Section 466-a

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Town of Brownville Joint Fire District will hold a Public Hearing on the proposition of whether the

Town of Brownville Joint Fire District, located in the town of Brownville, county of Jefferson, should adopt a resolution providing for partial exemption from fire district taxes, to the extent of 10% of the assessed value of the property for eligible enrolled members of an incorporated volunteer fire company, fire department or incorporated voluntary ambulance service or such eligible enrolled member and spouse residing within the Town of Brownville Joint Fire District, a partial tax exemption from fire district taxes, to the extent of 10% of the assessed value of the property pursuant to Section 466-a of the Real Property Tax Law and as otherwise provided for in such law.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, to be eligible for such partial tax exemption, certain other requirements must be met before the town assessor can allow such exemption as are set forth in Section 466-a of the Real Property Tax Law.

Said Public Hearing will be held on February 23, at 6:30 p.m. at Town of Brownville Joint Fire District Offices at 100 Locke St., Dexter, N.Y., at which time all interested persons shall be heard concerning the same.

A meeting of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Town of Brownville Joint Fire District will follow immediately after the Public Hearing.

A copy of Real Property Tax Law Section 466-a is available for inspection at the office of the Town of Brownville Joint Fire District Secretary at 100 Locke St., Dexter, N.Y., where it may be inspected by any interested person during office hours and on the Fire District’s website, https://www.Town of Brownville Jointfiredistrict.com/.
