*We currently do NOT have a Notary. If you have documents that need to be notarized, please visit the Village of Brownville Clerk office or you can visit the Watertown Savings Bank located in Chaumont. 

You can obtain the following at the Town Clerk’s Office:

• Dog License – $25.00 for unspayed/unneutered and $15.00 for spayed/neutered. If you would like to obtain a dog license, we require a valid rabies vaccination from your vet office. If your dog is fixed, we will need to see proof.
• Hunting and Fishing License 
• Handicapped Permits- if you are obtaining a permit for the first time, you will need to provide us with form MV-664. You can get this form through our office or through the DMV. It must be filled out by your doctor.
• Birth and Death Records – Birth, marriage and death records can be obtained through our office. If you need a certified copy, the cost is $10.00. Our records begin on year 1899. 
• Marriage Licences – Cost for marriage license is $40.00. 
• Transfer Permits – $35.00 for residents and $25.00 for seasonal.
