Town Supervisor Richard Lane is pleased to announce that the Town of Brownville Town Board has appointed T. Joseph Murphy to fill the Town Justice position following Judge Justin Brotherton’s successful election to Jefferson County Family Court Judge.
Murphy is a local attorney who serves as the principle Law Clerk to Supreme Court Judge William F. Ramseier. He previously served as an Assistant District Attorney for more than half a decade in the Onondaga County and Jefferson County District Attorney Offices. Prior to that, he was employed at a mid-sized regional law firm in Syracuse. Murphy is a graduate of the Syracuse University College of Law.
Murphy, his wife Kathleen, and their daughter Margaret reside on Pillar Point. He is excited about the opportunity to serve the local community. He also thanked Judge Brotherton for his service and wished him well in his new role as Family Court Judge.
