TOWN BOARD September 2nd 2026
MEETING MINUTES
PRESENT: Roll call of Board Members: Supervisor Richard D. Lane, Councilman Bill Pickett, Councilman Jeff Timerman, Councilman Richard Dodge, Councilman Howard Ganter, Highway Superintendent Roy Gilchrist, and Town Clerk Novina Green
GUEST: None
ABSENT: None
MINUTES: Motion from Councilman Dodge to accept the August 2026 clerk minutes as received and Councilman Timerman seconded the motion. Agreed
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: June and July 2026
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
- Copy of transfer site tonnage of refuse and recyclables
- Clerk monthly financial report for August 2026
- Planning Board minutes for August 2026 – Councilman Timerman suggested that Planning Board Secretary make a few word adjustments
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS:
- Motion to reappoint Michael Finucane for Zoning Board of Appeals with a term of 07/31/2026 to 07/31/2030 was made by councilman Dodge and seconded by Councilman Ganter. Agreed
HIGHWAY SUPT:
- Highway Superintendent Roy Gilchrist updated the board members with working in Lyme and paving the Village of Dexter. They will be chip sealing Bonney Road and Vanalstyne Road.
CLERK:
- Motion from Councilman Timerman to accept the July 2026 clerk financial report as received and Councilman Ganter seconded the motion. Agreed.
COMMUNICATIONS:
INCOMING
- Resolution to adopt the revised General Municipal Law S 239-M referral – exemption framework and authorizing an intermunicipal agreement with Jefferson County was presented to the board. After further questions and comments, and a roll call of vote, all agreed to adopt said resolution.
OUTGOING
- Violation letter to resident John Tucker.
COUNCILMEN:
- Councilman Dodge commented on County Sales Tax report. He also inquired bout the Verizon cell towers on how slow service has been inside and outside.
TOWN SUPEVISOR:
- supervisor Lane presented the board information regarding the Veterans Tax Exemption.
WATER, GENERAL AND HIGHWAY BILLS: Board Members reviewed the payables
ADJOURNMENT: Board members reviewed the payables. Councilman Dodge motioned to adjourn at the 5:25 PM and Councilman Ganter seconded the motion. the next Town Board meeting has been scheduled for 5:00 PM October 7th, 2026.
