MEETING MINUTES

PRESENT:   Roll call of Board Members:

Supv. Richard D. Lane, Councilman Bill Pickett,  Councilman Howard Ganter, Highway

Superintendent Roy Gilchrist, Town Clerk Novina Green

GUEST:       None

ABSENT:     Councilman Jeff Timerman and Councilman Richard Dodge

 

MINUTES:   Motion from Councilman Ganter to accept the May 2026 clerk minutes as received and Councilman Pickett seconded the motion. Agreed.

 

FINANCIAL STATEMENT:  Councilman Ganter motioned to accept the April 2026 financial report seconded by Councilman Pickett. Agreed

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

  1. Copy of transfer site tonnage of refuse and recyclables
  2. Clerk Monthly Financial Report for May 2026
  3. Planning Board minutes for May 2026

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

  1. Village of Brownville – Requesting collection of unpaid water bills for outside users. Town is still waiting for a response from Village of Brownville lawyer.

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Benefit Assessment Application – received from residents Levi Parisian, Randy & Lori McAvoy, and Wayne Blount for WD#2 . After further review and discussion, Councilman Ganter motioned to accept all 3 applications seconded by Councilman Pickett. Agreed

HIGHWAY SUPT:

  1. Highway Superintendent Roy gave an update on replacing culvert pipe on Bonney Rd, and cleaning out ditches on Smith Rd. Request was made to utilize the loader for the duck derby again. Councilman Picket inquired on who will be operating the equipment as to which Roy replied with one of the highway employees.

CLERK:

1.Motion from Councilman Ganter to accept the May 2026 clerk financial report as received and Councilman Pickett seconded the motion. Agreed.

 

COMMUNICATIONS:

Incoming

  1. Annual Financial Report – 12/31/2025 certified
  2. Applications for exclusion from WD#2 – benefit assessment applications received from residents Randy & Lori McAvoy, Wayne Blount and Levi Parisian.

 

Outgoing:

  1. Response letter to Alex Morgia in regards to partnering up on an application for a play ground at Breezy Knolls was reviewed. Board members agreed to mail out.

COUNCILMEN:        None.

TOWN SUPERVISOR:

  1. Inquiring about doing a re evaluation for the Town. Last time it was done was either in 2022 or 2023. Will need to get with the Assessor Becky Trudell – Town still has time to do it.

 

WATER,

GENERAL AND

HIGHWAY BILLS:  Board Members reviewed the payables. Councilman Pickett motioned to pay the General Bills ($29,837.94 the Highway bills ($157,934.10) Water bills WD  #1 ($172.21) WD #2 ($97.13) Councilman Ganter seconded the motion. Agreed.

ADJOURNMENT:    Councilman Ganter motioned to adjourn at 5:20 PM and Councilman Dodge seconded the motion. The next Town Board meeting has been scheduled for 5:00 PM July, 1st 2026.
